ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Sean Lanigan, a former multi-sport athlete and performance-focused professional offering wide-ranging experiences in coaching, training, and motivating athletes toward success.

Playing for the George Mason University soccer and crew teams, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Physical Education. After graduating, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play professional soccer for a number of different teams, giving me insight into professional-level athletic performance. Still, I decided to shift my focus from playing competitive soccer to coaching high school crew.

Eventually, I returned to coaching the sport I love the most, soccer. During my career, I helped produce numerous professional and top-level Division 1 athletes, and an Olympic gold medalist. I also led the United States Development Academy, National Premier League, National Capital Soccer League, and Washington Area Girls Soccer Club Champions League to:

  • 8 state cup championships

  • 3 regional championships

  • 1 national championship

Having held positions including Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Goalkeeper Coach, I decided to start my own company, Peak Performance Training in Centreville, Virginia. As an expert in instructing players through SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) drills, weight training routines, techniques of soccer, and monitoring players during competition and practice sessions, my goal is to help athletes of all ages and sports perform at their peak performance.
