FREQUESNTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is sport-specific training?

Sport-specific training refers to exercises and drills that closely mimic the movements, energy systems, and skills required in a particular sport. When applied to speed and agility or weight training, it means tailoring the training to improve performance in ways that are directly relevant to the sport.

DO I HAVE TO BE "IN SHAPE" IN ORDER TO WORKOUT?

Absolutely not! Our performance coaches are trained to build a workout program designed specifically for your needs and abilities. If you're inexperienced, we can help reach your overall athletic goals. If you're an experienced athlete looking to improve performance, we can help you with that too.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WANT TO DO 1-ON-1 OR BE PART OF GROUP TRAINING?

If your schedule is a bit hectic or you're looking for more tailored instruction then 1-on-1 might be best. If you have a group of friends or even teammates who are looking for some additional performance training than group classes are more likely for you.

HOW LONG ARE TRAINING SESSIONS?

Each session is 60 minutes. We have sessions throughout the week to accommodate your busy schedule. When you sign up, you’ll attend the same day and time every week for the duration of the session. You can make up one class during the session you booked.

AT WHAT AGE DO YOU BEGIN OFFERING PERFORMANCE TRAINING?

Our training programs are quite rigorous and require focus and dedication. We know you want the best for your children, but at this time we only offer our programs for children 10 and older.

IF A CLASS SAYS IT'S FULL CAN I STILL JOIN?

As much as we would love to train everyone at the same time we do have a limited number of spots open for each training program. If it is full we will open a waiting list and you'll be notified if and when a spot becomes available.

You can also reach out directly to Sean via email or phone.

CAN I JUST SHOW UP FOR A CLASS?

As much as we love having athletes in all of our classes we do have a limited number of spots for each session. You can view the schedule of classes on the booking page and sign up based on your availability. If you're looking for private instruction you'll need to request an appointment so we can make sure a trainer is available.

Which is better for weight loss, Strength Training or Cardio?

Strength training is generally more effective than cardio for weight loss because it helps build muscle, which increases your metabolism and burns more calories at rest. While cardio burns more calories during the workout, strength training leads to a greater post-workout calorie burn and helps you maintain muscle mass while losing fat.

Should I avoid carbs if I'm looking to drop weight?

Absolutely not! A healthy balanced approach is critical for long term maintenance of health goals. Carbs, especially complex carbs like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables over simple carbs, like refined sugars, can be beneficial for weight loss because they provide energy and fiber, which promotes feelings of fullness, are necessary to power a workout and can help regulate blood sugar levels.
